Sophie Walls

The Human Body

As a 21-year-old artist, Sophie Compton uses the anatomy of the body and animals, as well as the issues of the world and society, to convey her intended message across. Her style is usually aimed towards hyper-realistic illustrations, recently using the anaglyph technique to my advantage. Combining this area of work with her passion for politics and feminism, she is able to educate and inform all ages as well as tackle the consistent issues in society. Thought and emotion-provoking illustrations, which will hopefully help in her career after graduation as an art teacher, teaching secondary school years that using art to challenge or question issues should be an advantage and not a sin.

“For my Graduate Portfolio I have taken on subject areas that I am extremely passionate about. Politics, Feminism and Medical Art - I use all areas to educate, inform, invoke action and to send the messages across to all ages about educating young children and showing them that they should fight for what is right and fight for change. My projects aim to use all three areas in a combination to target my focus audience."
