Maisie Tuckett is an illustrator and visual activist from Bristol who uses urban and political themes in a lot of her heavily graphic work. Maisie works traditionally and digitally for pieces that emphasise and highlight important messages that can be more interestingly interpreted through illustration. She is interested in poster art and branding and works in a range of styles that are applied to different themes which she hopes to continue trying her hand at by working on a variety of artistic work in the future.

“My graduate project consists of various promotional work for external companies, as well as a ‘pitch bible’ to represent the visual interpretations of a spinoff story from one of Charles Dickens’ lesser-known books, ‘The Haunted Man and the Ghost’s Bargain’. The illustrations for my spinoff retain themes that appear in the original story, combined with the incorporation of folklore elements that appear in the 1800’s ‘Penny Dreadful’ works and the social class divide of the mid Victorian era. The pitch bible features character designs, location concepts and scene illustrations for the purpose of an imagined visual production of my spinoff story.”
